The journey that has led us here has been 6 years in the making

The journey that has led us here has been 6 years in the making. God is so detailed in every way. From the dreams we have, to the people we know, to our passions & the things we enjoy. After our first year of marriage our lease was up and the price was increasing. We wanted to find a better option. Dane was a full time student at the time & we both worked in ministry. From the beginning we have been intentional with our money. At the time we were looking for a better living situation, my sister & her husband were buying a house. We thought it might be worth asking if we could rent from them while Cameron was deployed. Of course we understood & respected if they didn’t want to share their space but they said yes. We stayed with them for about a year & a half. Cameron came home somewhere in there. It was such a sweet season and we are so thankful for the foundation of our relationship that was built among all four of us. During that time, we both had a few job changes - Dane changed jobs & I went from part time to full time. We were able to save and buy our first house - the timing again, so specific. Dane had been watching the market and it was such a great call. The entire way (all 7 years of our marriage) we have been dedicated to saving for whenever God opens a door. Every time we’d hang out with my sister & brother in law we would dream about living next to them. The guys would look for spots, talk about finding land. We would dream of cousins playing, kinda like living our own version of the show parenthood. Ok, so Dane had been watching a neighborhood that had so many things we’d love- nature reserve, good size backyards, so many details. He told Cameron, they loved the plans and reserved their spot. We had planned to rent out our house & buy at a different location. Fast forward, Dane crunched numbers. And 1 week was all that was needed. We bought a house & sold one. You guys, I’m leaving out so many details but God has seriously blown us away.... so guess who our neighbors are?!? Yup! And the house plans were already set, dreams for both them and us. Yards right next to each other, house details that only God would know we’d love.
Things we’ve been dreaming of for a long time. Please stay sensitive to His leading. It may come sooner than you think. It did for us. And we wouldn’t have been here without partnering with Him. Every step of the way had to be laced with obedience. When you feel something pressed on your heart, do not ignore it. It’s an invitation. We’ve had many. Along the way, and more to come to fulfillment. It was paved with one step at a time.
Maybe it's not a home, maybe it's something bigger or more complicated...stay obedient. He is a God who fulfills promises.

I was so afraid of what it might look like.
