thrift tips I’ve gathered along the way

So I have been getting more into thrifting (much easier now that Aviana is older)... you've probably seen in my stories if you'd been here for a while... And, I am loving it. I’m intentional and buy things that are on my list (like this jean jacket I’m wearing), but at a huge discount & it's better for the environment.

I'm no pro but here are some tips I have gathered along the way:
Keep a list on your phone: separate by departments to make shopping easier (shoes, clothing, dishes, decor, etc.)

Consider 3 things when making your list: 1. what do I want? 2. What do I need? 3. What could I always use more of? (ex.: envelopes, thank you cards, copy paper - I always have copy paper on my list because when I see it cheaper than anywhere else I've gotten it, I want to remember to snag it).

Be specific. It's too easy to spend simply because "it's a great deal". I don't want tons of shirts just because they were a great price if I am trying to shop with intention. On my list right now I have "b/w striped tee" and "denim pant overalls".

Keep sizes on your phone. I can never remember my husband's pant size - I have it on my phone for times I see his favorite brand for a deal.

Add items that you know you'll want in the future. I'm always collecting books because I will be thankful that I snagged them.

Going often does help. You get more familiar with where things are. Often & early- weekdays when the store opens seems to be the best.
